It feels as though
we've never been apart,
no time has passed
since last we kissed,
until...
You don't recognise
the CD playing in my car,
and you are pleasantly surprised
by the unfamiliar underwear you find
beneath the zip of my jeans.
I find time has sharpened your memory:
you remember everything,
you never revealed in time to save us.
and now with blush pale,
you tell me
you started listening
to my favourite band,
and I watch you appreciate
every fingertip touch,
because you let it show
the way you never did before.
